Transfer students must have earned 30 semester hours or 50 quarter hours and have a cumulative academic 2.0 (C) grade point average. Transfer students with less than 30 semester or 50 quarter hours must also satisfy freshmen standards.
Please consult the university catalog or visit the Office of Admission for details regarding other classifications. Graduate or masters admission standards vary among the majors and require specialized graduate examinations.
International applicants from non-English countries must also present satisfactory scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam. This ranges at the 550 or above level on the paper exam.
International applicants should read the current catalog and visit the international web page regarding the admission process as it relates to academic eligibility, Visa type, deadlines, testing, residency and the proper submission of official documents.
KSU reserves the right to refuse admission. Likewise we may require additional testing, essays, recommendations, evaluation or interviews for final determination of eligibility. Acceptance notices are not official until issued in writing. If subsequent information is discovered after an acceptance that would disqualify the applicant, then the acceptant is subject to dismissal.
Students qualify as transfers if they have earned 30 transferable semester hours or forty five quarter hours. All students are accepted on a “rolling” basis for future terms. KSU Admissions does not practice an official announcement date for the acceptance of freshmen or transfers. Once final documents are received that satisfactorily complete a folder it goes into immediate review for an admission decision. All documents must be received in advance of the posted deadline to review a folder. Grade point averages are calculated on all academic work attempted from all institutions attended. Even if a course is repeated both grades are calculated. Transfers must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA to be considered. Transfer credit evaluations are not done until after the transfer applicant is accepted. All transcripts must be on file for the acceptance decision and prior to evaluation. The Registrar’s Office completes the evaluation, and it can be accessed on the web through Owl Express using your net id & password.
