FAQs

Q. How do I apply?
A.

Complete an online application, send an official high school transcript, and SAT or ACT scores. Transfer students also need to send college transcripts from each institution attended. Letters of recommendation and interviews are not required. There is a non-refundable $40 application processing fee.

Applicants must submit all required official documents and test scores necessary to support the application process. If applications or transcripts are deemed irregular, incomplete, unofficial, altered or not authentic the applicant risks delay or disqualification. Any applicant found misrepresenting or falsifying records is subject to the KSU student code of conduct and is subject to judicial action or withdrawal.

Q. Is orientation mandatory?
A.

All first-time, full-time students are required to attend an orientation session. Part-time students are strongly encouraged to attend.

If you are new to Kennesaw State University, New Student Orientation will help you get a good head start on your first semester. The Student Success Services (Formerly Counseling, Advisement and Placement Services - CAPS) Center will mail orientation invitations to all accepted applicants eligible to attend. Class advisement and explanation of telephone and web registration procedures are part of orientation. Please feel free to visit the Student Success Services web site for more information about the Orientation Sessions.

Please note that KSU does not accept FAXED transcripts or test scores.

All documents must arrive by the posted deadline for the term you are applying. Please check application and document deadlines.

Q. What does Accepted Pending or Tentative Acceptance Mean?
A.

Students are occasionally accepted on a temporary or pending status based on the arrival of a final document. Most often this is for the lack of proof on complete immunization or final high school transcript reflecting date of graduation or final grades from a college.

Registration will not be delayed for the first term, but could be held for future terms unless the document is properly submitted. Students accepted with a tentative status indicates that admission is conditional upon satisfying some remaining requirement, but will not delay registration. However, a hold will be placed on the file after the first registration until the admission is cleared up.

Q. English Proficiency Requirement for Lawful Permanent Resident
A.

Thank you for your interest in KSU.

The English proficiency requirement for lawful permanent residents really depends on your particular situation. If you have graduated from a high school in the United States, normally you are not required to take any additional tests to show your proficiency in English. If you have not graduated from a high school in the United States and have no college experience, you will normally need to take a TOEFL or Michigan Test. The Michigan Test is offered at Kennesaw State University, and is an alternative to the TOEFL Test.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to e-mail me again; call the Office of Admissions at 770 423 6500; or visit our web site at http://www.kennesaw.edu.

We hope this information helps you.
